We will pick you up from your hotel at 1:30 in the afternoon, after that we will start our City Tour. We will star visiting the Cusco’s main church the Cathedral which’s been built over the Quishuarcancha palace incan foundation; one can see important feature such as assimilation fenomena, it means andean figures or elements have been placed soberly within the oil paintings or wooden art in a
hidden way; for instance one can find the famous andean mermaid which is half woman and half potato or the Last Super in Andean version in which has been set the roasted guinea pig instead of roasted lamb. Just in this church there are an average of 350 oil paintings. The next attraction is Qoricancha the temple of the sun, it’s the greatest shrine, located in the middle of incan downtown; there were inside it chapels or chambers dedicated to the incan gods many of them tore down so over the incan foundation of it has been built Santo Domingo Church. Later on, we will drive to the northern outskirts of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman the sole megalithic construction and from it’s laid many
theories or it’s been formulated important questions. What kind of technics have been applied to templete or match the giant boulders?. What kind of technics have been used to move the giant boulder from the quarry to there? or What kind of technics have been used to crack the piece of stone from the main mass?. Actually there are suppositions which have been proposed by stranger and local scholars, the idea is to tackle them in order to see the pretty acceptable one
Then, we will move onto another important Inca site known as Qenqo, a kind of rock outcrop below under the rock can be seen passageway carving on living rock; it’s the the temple of the
mother earth; eventually for others this being a kind of shrine was the place where the priests, the inca himself, philosophers, soothsayers, fortune tellers drunk psychotropic medicines to help their bodies get rid of toxins; actually they were able to forsee their future with this hallucinogens such Ayahuasca or San Pedrito; this idea has been given by american scholar Willian Sullivan in his book “The Secret of the Incas”. The next one is Pucapucara a kind of place for resting (lodge), on the walls of it can be seen iconographical figures such as seal, pig, snake, llama, tortoise, incan dog and a happy puppy. The last one is Tambomachay called the “Bano del Inca” the incas’s bath. Known us Fertility Fountain or Eternal Youth Fountain.
