Itinerary

Day 01 … – Santiago

santiagoWelcome to Chile! Arrival to Santiago´s airport, reception and transfer to selected hotel. Check in (14:00hrs) and overnight. ( – )

Day 02 Santiago

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, we pass through Providencia, a district of great tradition and strong commercial and social activity, then we continue towards downtown, you’ll see several historic monuments and buildings, including the Palacio de la Moneda, the current seat of the government. Stop for a stroll at the city’s most important plaza, the Plaza de Armas, which has been the heart of Santiago since its origin in 1541. Ringing the plaza are many important buildings that are considered national monuments. Here you see the Correo Central (main post office), Iglesia Catedral (Cathedral Church), the Municipalidad de Santiago (City Hall), the National Historic Museum, Precolumbian. museum is close for remodelations for one year.

In the afternoon, we depart Santiago for the South, arriving in Pirque. This is the location of Concha y Toro Winery, the biggest wine society in Chile. You will tour the Patronal House, including its beautiful park and lagoon. You’ll have access to the vineyards, the prime matter of the world-renowned wines. You will visit the wine cellars, including CASILLERO DEL DIABLO (Devil’s Locker), observing the whole storage process, and will have some time to spend at the Wine Shop. The tour continues by the side of Maipo River, through the residential area of Las Vertientes (the streams), with countryside houses, camping, restaurants and cottages. Return to the hotel in Santiago. Typical Dinner Show. Overnight. (B)

Day 03 Santiago

santiago-2Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to Viña del Mar and Valparaiso 09:00 Depart from Santiago to the Pacific coast, crossing through the Coast Mountain Range and the Casablanca and Curacavi Valleys. Arrive at Valparaiso City, where the main commercial port and the Congress of Chile are located. During the tour we will see the multicolored houses on the hills, the parks and the diverse historic monuments alongside typical bars and restaurants that make this city a bohemian center by the night. Viña del Mar, also known as the Garden City, thanks to its numerous parks and nice gardens, is our next stop. The Casino somehow reflects the aristocratic character that the city’s founder, Jose Francisco Vergara, tried to give this city. The tour continues to Reaca, a place known for its extended beach area and as one of the most exclusive places in the central coast of Chile, with its prestigious restaurants and modern buildings. Return to Santiago. Overnight. (B)

Day 04 Santiago – Eastern Island

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the regular flight to Eastern Island. Welcome to Eastern Island! Bienvenido a la Isla de Pascua! Arrival to the airport, reception and transfer to selected hotel. Check in (14:00hrs) and overnight. (B)

Day 05 Eastern Island

chileBreakfast at hotel. Departure from the hotel in Hanga Roa, heading North towards Ahu Akivi, platform composed by 7 Moais. These are the only Moais on the island that were positioned facing the sea.Departure to Ana Tepahu, also known as the Cave of the Bananas. The tour continues visiting the Puna Pau, quarry where the Pukao where carved, Pukao are also known as the typical hairstyle or the hats of the moai. Here it is possible to learn more about the making, building, and transportation process of these colossal sculptures carved on volcanic rock. Return to the hotel in Hanga Roa. Afternoon at your leisure. Overnight. (B) Note: – Entrance´s fee to National Park US$ 65.00

Day 06 Eastern Island

Breakfast at hotel. Departure from the hotel tour across the Moai route, these colossal sculptures carved in volcanic rock are scattered all around the island. Visit to Ahu Akahanga, where the first king of the island was buried. The tour continues to Rano Raraku Volcano, located near the southern coast and at the feet of Poike, the most spectacular crater of the zone, where the ancient natives sculpted these stone giants. Later, departure to Ahu Tongariki, the biggest Moai platform in the island, it is formed by 15 Moais. The place was destroyed in May 1960 by a tsunami, and it has been restored mainly thanks to Japanese foundations. Arrival to Ahu Te Pito Kura, where there is an enormous spherical rock and the Moai Paro, the largest statue in the island. Later, arrival to Anakena, one of the most beautiful beaches in the island. Return to the hotel.

Day 07 Eastern Island

chile-2Desayuno en el hotel. Departure from hotel towards Rano Kao Volcano, inside its deep crater there is a lake of fresh water covered with totora. Located on the top of the crater is Orongo, the centre where each year the Tangata Manu or Bird Man ceremony was celebrated, those festivities currently take place during summer. There are more than 100 petroglyphs representing the god Make Make, the Tangata Manu and the Manutara sea bird, among others. Visit to the caves Ana Kai Tangata, which contains several cave paintings. Departure to the ceremonial platform Ahu Vinapu, well known for its architectural perfection.Afternoon at your leisure. Overnight. (B)

Day 08 Eastern Island – Santiago Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the regular flight to Santiago. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon at your leisure. Overnight. (B)
